FAIRFAX, Va. — A Goff Limousine & Bus, a family-owned Virginia transportation company, has joined Trailways as its newest stockholder, the network announced Oct. 8.
Founded in 1999 and incorporated in 2000, the company operates 26 large passenger vehicles, including motorcoaches, and three black-car SUVs. Ana Goff owns the business, and her husband, Dan Goff, is general manager.
Dan Goff first contacted Trailways in 2021 while transportation companies were emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic and seeking ways to generate revenue. Discussions were set aside as business rebounded, but he revisited the idea earlier this year.
“The Trailways name and brand are very strong, and I’ve watched how the organization has evolved over the years,” Dan Goff said. “I believe there is an opportunity to do something good for our company while also contributing something valuable to Trailways.”

Trailways is a network of independently owned and operated transportation companies providing charter, tour, scheduled-route and other passenger transportation services throughout North America.
Goff said joining the network offers opportunities to exchange ideas and collaborate with other operators as the company considers expanding into additional markets. Its operations already span multiple states.
Goff’s transportation career began in 1979 after he was a Morse code radio operator in the U.S. Army Special Forces. His first civilian transportation job was in dispatch for a Yellow Cab operation, where reservations arrived on a conveyor belt.
In 2004, Goff founded SuperMax Motors, which sells motorcoaches, minibuses, limousines and other passenger vehicles. He previously operated a commercial vehicle repair and maintenance business.
Ana and Dan Goff are preparing to transfer leadership responsibilities to younger family members as part of the company’s succession planning.
“We are excited to welcome A Goff Limousine & Bus to the Trailways family,” said Suzanne Thornburg, Trailways chair. “Their extensive transportation experience, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to innovation and family business succession make them a valuable addition to our network. We look forward to the perspectives and opportunities they will bring to Trailways.”
