Prevost, IMG strengthen partnership to advance motorcoach safety and standards

QUEBEC CITY — Motorcoach manufacturer Prevost and the International Motorcoach Group (IMG) are marking another year of collaboration, continuing a partnership that emphasizes safety, performance, and shared industry standards.

The companies’ relationship, which spans more than a decade, includes annual sponsorships and events supporting motorcoach operators across North America. Executives from both organizations say the connection has evolved from traditional sponsorship to a deeper collaboration.

Gray Line Tennessee’s Prevost motorcoach was wrapped to celebrate its recognition as the IMG 2025 Operator of the Year.

François Tremblay, president of Prevost, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to helping operators meet higher standards of service.

“This enduring relationship is more than sponsorship, it’s a collaboration rooted in helping the industry thrive,” Tremblay said.

Stability, support

IMG, a North American network of independent motorcoach operators, highlights those standards each year through its Operator of the Year award. The honor recognizes companies that demonstrate excellence in customer service, safety, maintenance, training, and engagement in IMG and the wider industry. Nominees are chosen by peer operators, with the final selection made by a panel of past award winners.

Since the award’s launch in 2007, several Prevost customers have earned the recognition. Tremblay said those honors reflect the company’s focus on long-term partnerships and product reliability.

For operators, the Prevost–IMG connection provides stability in an industry facing ongoing challenges, from workforce shortages to fleet modernization.

Since the award’s launch in 2007, several Prevost customers have earned the recognition of IMG Operator of the Year.

“Our longstanding relationship with Prevost is an important component of our commitment to safety and quality,” said Chuck Abbott, president and CEO of Gray Line Tennessee, which received the honor this year. “They are not just our bus supplier; they are an integral part of our overall fleet strategy.”

North Carolina-based Holiday Tours was the IMG Operator of the Year for 2024–25. Vice President Joathan Moody said that distinction underscores the connection between strong equipment partnerships and operator performance.

“Prevost has been our exclusive provider of full-size motorcoaches since 1986,” Moody said. “The quality and dependability of their coaches have been integral to our growth and success.”

While sponsorships and awards are central to the partnership, both organizations say the broader goal is to strengthen the motorcoach sector’s standards and reputation.
