NOLA mayor warns party buses

In April, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s office warned party bus operators that the city will begin a crackdown on the often raucous vehicles, according to NOLA.com.

In a statement, Cantrell said the city considers unregulated party bus operations “a public safety issue, and public safety is a top priority.”

City regulations require party bus operators to have the same certificate of public necessity issued to taxis, limousines and tour buses. Those who don’t have the proper licensing could be ticketed and arrested, and their vehicles impounded.
