Companies with vehicles operating in or traveling to the New York City area are advised to prepare for longer travel times due to a recent escalation of law enforcement activity at critical infrastructure points within the metropolitan area.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo called for the stepped-up enforcement following recent cases of explosive devices found at three New York locations. One hundred National Guard soldiers have been deployed and security has been doubled at the following key infrastructure points in and around the city:

- JFK Airport
- Mass transit systems
- All Staten Island crossings
- George Washington Bridge
- RFK Bridge
- Verrazano-Narrows Bridge
- Bronx-Whitestone Bridge
- Throgs Neck Bridge
- Henry Hudson Bridge
- Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge
- Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge
- Mario M. Cuomo Bridges
- Lincoln Tunnel
- Holland Tunnel
- Hugh L. Carey Tunnel
- Queens Midtown Tunnel
