HOUSTON — ECHO AFC Transportation has appointed Tommy Balensiefen as president of its Texas operations, the company announced.

Balensiefen, who joined the organization recently, will oversee daily operations across multiple service lines, ensuring compliance with safety standards, contractual obligations and performance benchmarks. His leadership will focus on strengthening accountability, improving operational clarity and maintaining a culture of respect.
Company officials cited Balensiefen’s ability to quickly assess challenges, make informed decisions and lead with confidence as key factors in his promotion.
“Tommy’s commitment to both our people and our clients is evident in everything he does,” the company said.
Balensiefen brings more than two decades of experience in transportation operations, fleet management and service delivery. He has managed large-scale fleets of more than 1,000 vehicles, maintaining service standards while keeping vehicle downtime below 2% through preventative maintenance.
His experience includes oversight of fixed-route and shuttle operations, with responsibilities spanning fleet readiness, maintenance coordination, and workforce management. He works closely with dispatch and field teams to ensure consistent, on-time service.
Company leaders said the promotion reflects confidence in Balensiefen’s ability to guide continued growth while maintaining a strong focus on safety, service, and employee support.
