KINGSPORT, Tenn. — Premier Transportation has opened a new facility in the Tri-Cities region, deepening its roots in an area the charter motorcoach company has served for more than 20 years.
The service center, located near the intersection of Interstates 26 and 81, is positioned to support clients across northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia, including Kingsport and Johnson City, Tennessee, and Bristol, Virginia. Company officials said the expansion comes in response to increasing demand for group transportation services.
The new operation is expected to improve efficiency by reducing travel distances for vehicles previously dispatched from Knoxville. The change is also intended to lower costs and enhance service for schools, businesses, churches, and athletic programs.

“This is more than a new location — it’s a meaningful investment in a region we know well and are proud to serve,” said Taylor Thomas, general manager of Premier Transportation. “As demand continues to grow and transportation providers become more limited, Premier is uniquely positioned to deliver the service, reliability, and scale our clients depend on.”
The facility will be managed by Callie Clark and is expected to create 10 to 15 jobs, including drivers, maintenance technicians, and operations staff. Many of the company’s drivers already live in the Tri-Cities area and previously commuted to Knoxville.
“Our team lives here and is deeply connected to the Tri-Cities community,” Clark said. “Having a dedicated facility allows us to better serve local clients while also supporting professional motorcoach operators and creating new opportunities in the region.”
Premier Transportation is a member of the International Motorcoach Group. The company provides charter motorcoach services throughout East Tennessee.
