NEBA honors McCaughey, Wilcox with Hall of Fame induction

NEWPORT, R.I. — The New England Bus Association inducted two longtime industry leaders into its Hall of Fame on Wednesday evening, recognizing their contributions to the motorcoach industry and the association.

Tom McCaughey, former owner of Flagship Tours, was honored for his service to the industry, including his efforts to help secure funding for motorcoach operators during the COVID-19 pandemic. McCaughey entered the bus industry in 2001 after a successful career in his family’s waste disposal business. A longtime interest in driving motorcoaches led him to purchase and operate Flagship Tours, which was acquired by DATTCO in 2022.

The New England Bus Association inducted Tom McCaughey and Randy Wilcox into its Hall of Fame at its annual meeting.

Randy Wilcox was also inducted into the Hall of Fame. Wilcox began his career in the bus industry as a mechanic in 1976 and is widely known for his decades of service at MCI. During his tenure, he held positions in pre-owned coach sales and later new coach sales. Until recently, he represented Irizar USA in the Northeast.

Wilcox was also recently named a William H. Smith Fellow by the AACA/Museum of Bus Transportation Board of Directors in recognition of his outstanding service to the museum.

“UMA extends their heartiest congratulations to these deserving industry stalwarts,” said Scott Michael, president and CEO of the United Motorcoach Association.
