MMA and VMA plan joint operators’ meeting in February

The Maryland Motorcoach Association (MMA) and the Virginia Motorcoach Association (VMA) are planning joint operators’ meetings in February.

MMA President Al Spence, of A.S. Midway Trailways, and VMA President Jason Quick, of Quick’s Bus Company, are excited to announce an inaugural joint 2021 Winter Operators Meeting.

The gathering will take place at the Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center, part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, located in Glen Allen, Virginia, Feb. 21-23, 2021.

Requested event

Mary Presley, Executive Administrator for MMA, said, “This event has been asked for by some of our members, both from VMA & MMA, for many years. You asked for it, you got it.”

With event planners Cheryl Clemens-Everidge with Toby’s Dinner Theatre and Mona Seaman of Quick’s Bus, educational and networking opportunities are in the works to focus on issues facing the industry post-COVID-19 and moving forward.

“Energize, Evaluate & Educate is what we are focusing on,” said Spence, “and with this in mind, we have invited the American Bus Association, United Motorcoach Association and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to join us in this inaugural event.”

Explore and enjoy

Toni Bastian, Group Tour and Visitor Center Manager for the Richmond Region Tourism Bureau, is looking forward to welcoming the group to her area. There will be some exciting opportunities for VMA and MMA members to explore the area and enjoy some of the fine wines coming out of Virginia’s local vineyards, she said.

Previously, with so many industry event opportunities for members to choose from throughout the year, it’s been hard for them to decide which ones to attend.

“MMA and VMA hopes to alleviate that decision process by joining forces and inviting everyone to share their ideas in conducting business moving forward, post-COVID,” Presley said.
