‘Mind-blowing,’ TCS President Terry Fisher says of IMG Operator of the Year award

With Green Bay’s Lambeau Field as an backdrop, IMG announced that Transportation Charter Services (TCS) is its 2023 Operator of the Year.

The announcement brought audience members to their feet as TCS President Terry Fischer accepted the award from IMG Chairman Mike Dickson of Southeastern Stages at the historic home field for the Green Bay Packers.

“It is an honor to be an IMG member, but to be named IMG Operator of the Year is extremely humbling,” he said. “This is a career highlight for me. I respect every operator in IMG, and any one of us deserves this award. To be named as the Operator of the Year was mind-blowing.  I am very humbled and extremely honored.”

Many contributions

Since joining IMG in 2014, Transportation Charter Services (TCS) has been an active member. 

Fischer, his wife, Katherine (Kat), brother Kevin, and so manyof the TCS staff TCS staff have actively participated in IMG committee work, sales missions and trade shows, as well as helping IMG develop training tools for mechanics and drivers. Fischer has also served on the IMG Board of Directors. 

The Fischers joined IMG after purchasing the company in 2011 from Ray Gillian, who started the business in 1986. 

“TCS has been an amazing addition to the network, and their contribution to the network has been all-encompassing, from participation in committees, to trade shows, to sharing best practices,” says IMG President Bronwyn Wilson. “When any of the TCS team speak about IMG, you can see how proud they are to be a part of the IMG family and the value it brings in so many ways.”

The last decade has also marked significant growth for the company, which is a major transportation provider for sports teams, both collegiate and professional, tour operators and meeting planners in the Los Angeles area.

TCS headquarters spans nearly 2 acres and houses a three-bay, full-service maintenance facility, administrative offices, and parking for its growing fleet of full-size charter buses, mid-size charter buses, mini buses and school buses.

Also at the ceremony, Bob Greene and Jeff Goldwasser, of Amaya Astron Seating, were jointly awarded the IMG Partner of the Year award.

“This award was the highlight of my 20 years of work with IMG customers,” Greene, a UMA Board Member, said after receiving the award. 

The awards capped the IMG Annual Conference, which celebrated IMG’s 25th anniversary. Several sessions were focused on sustainability and the emissions requirements being imposed by California and other states.

IMG’s next meeting will be the IMG Annual Maintenance and Safety Forum, which will take place in Raleigh, North Carolina, in conjunction with the UMA Motorcoach EXPO, Feb. 4-7.
