Bus and Coach America’s Andy Fung Dies

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. — Andrew Fung, a longtime motorcoach industry official, died suddenly last month after suffering a brain hemorrhage. He was 54.

Fung, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, is survived by his wife, Kim Crookshanks; his brother and sister and their families; and his parents.

A longtime member of the Society of Automotive Engineers’ Truck and Bus Committee, Fung earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Manitoba and maintained his licensing with the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Manitoba.

He managed engineering departments for Hughes Aircraft Co. and Unisys before joining Motor Coach Industries in Winnipeg in 1994, where he created and managed an after-sales organization to provide technical support and retrofit parts.

Fung then developed engineering liaison and support services for ABC Companies in Winter Garden.

He co-founded Las Vegas-based Bus and Coach America in 2010, where he was responsible for all design and manufacturing, including all engineering, research, development and production, as well as all technical relationships.

Fung’s family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University of Manitoba Andrew Fung Memorial Scholarship Fund for deserving engineering students. The fund will enable future conquests of engineering challenges, the pursuit of which was among Fung’s greatest gifts and passions.

Donations can be mailed to 200-137 Innovation Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3T 6B6 or made online at: https://give.umanitoba.ca/donationform?fid=vV4HkOmOARI%3d&fdesc=uUGcpFAtCn95MjaSn4aX2bPZwUQGSoENCSbUGivx%2blOKRLcGl%2bVlvA%3d%3d
