The Pacific Bus Museum will open its doors to the public for its annual Summer Open House on Sunday, Aug. 17, offering a rare chance to explore all of its vintage and modern buses.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum, 37974 Shinn St. in Fremont, California. Admission is free.
Visitors will be able to view and photograph a wide array of antique coaches, including highlights such as a 1924 Fageol Safety Coach, once operated by Peninsula Charter Lines, and a 1991 Gillig Phantom from AC Transit. Most of the museum’s operational buses will be open for interior viewing, and additional visiting buses may join the lineup.
The open house also includes a bus memorabilia flea market, a raffle, and a barbecue lunch. The flea market opens at 9:45 a.m., with tables available to Pacific Bus Museum members at no cost. Non-members and those requesting additional tables can rent space for $25.
Lunch will be served shortly after 11 a.m. and includes a choice of hamburger, cheeseburger or chicken breast, sides, dessert, and a beverage. The cost is $17 for adults and $10 for children 10 and under.
Raffle tickets will be sold starting at 11 a.m., with prizes announced later in the day.
All proceeds will benefit the Pacific Bus Museum, a tax-exempt organization dedicated to preserving the history of bus transportation in the western United States.
