A wave of new appointments is bringing seasoned leadership and expanded customer service to key roles across the bus and motorcoach industry.

Premiere Transportation appoints David Torra as VP of operations

Premiere Transportation, based in Albany, New York, has appointed David Torra as vice president of operations. His new role began June 9.

Torra has more than two decades of leadership experience in transportation operations, fleet management and regulatory compliance. He is known for building cross-functional teams and improving safety and operational processes within Department of Transportation-regulated environments.

“We’re excited to see the fresh new thoughts and the experience he brings to the table,” said David Brown, president of Premiere Transportation.

ENC names John Obert as Midwest sales manager

ENC, a transit bus manufacturer based in Riverside, California, has named John Obert as regional sales manager for the Midwest. Obert brings more than 35 years of experience in the transit sector, including leadership roles at Nova Bus, Daimler Buses North America and Luminator.

He has led major sales efforts across North America and helped shape procurement strategies for some of the country’s largest transit systems.

“John is one of the most experienced and trusted sales professionals in the industry,” said Dan Trujillo, vice president of sales at ENC. “His technical knowledge, customer-first mindset and track record of success make him a tremendous asset to ENC.”

Obert will oversee regional sales and assist transit agencies with fleet modernization and the transition to zero-emission vehicles. His appointment comes as ENC resumes production at its Riverside facility under new ownership.

AA Systems adds Charlie McCarron to field service team

AA Systems Truck and Bus has hired Charlie McCarron to provide field service support for customers in eight Southern states. McCarron will serve Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina and North Carolina.

Based in Florida, McCarron brings 40 years of experience in the coach and bus industry. He has worked as a technician, shop manager and business owner.

He will travel to customers in a customized van stocked with parts to reduce shipping times and minimize vehicle downtime.

AA Systems, which operates locations in Wyandanch, Mineola and Yaphank, New York, supplies original and aftermarket parts for coach, transit, school bus and heavy-duty truck fleets. The company began as two family-owned businesses – AA Brake in Brooklyn and AA Systems on Long Island – and merged in 2022 under third-generation ownership.
