NEW YORK – The company OurBus, which specializes in crowdsourced intercity and commuter bus routes, is expanding to more than two dozen college towns across the United States, targeting students looking for convenient travel options home—and for vacation.
To kick off the expansion, OurBus started service mid-August from State College, Pa., to New York City with promotional fares starting at $25 each way. Additional service has or will start as well in college towns in Del., Calif., and Fla. as well as the city of Newark. The locations were selected because they were determined to have a lack of budget-friendly and convenient travel options to major cities and towns.
The company is drawing attention to its new services with complimentary bus rides to prospective students visiting select colleges starting this fall as part of the college initiative.
