Robertson, who previously served as vice chair, has been a member of NFI’s board since 2020. He brings more than 30 years of global manufacturing and leadership experience, including 13 years as CEO of Alexander Dennis Limited, which NFI acquired in 2019. He also held executive roles at Cummins Inc. and Terex Corp.

“NFI is uniquely positioned to capitalize on compelling market opportunities as it advances its leadership in bus and coach technology, manufacturing and aftermarket services,” Robertson said. “The company is poised to deliver significant value creation, and I look forward to working closely with my fellow directors and the leadership team as we drive NFI forward.”

Larry Edwards, previously vice chair, will serve as lead independent director for the Canadian-based company.

Paul Soubry, president and CEO of NFI, thanked Galbato.

“On behalf of the company, I would like to thank Mr. Galbato for his service, dedication and the significant effort and energy that he devoted to NFI,” he said in a statement.

With Galbato’s resignation, his name has been withdrawn from the slate of director nominees up for election at NFI’s upcoming shareholders meeting. The company plans to proceed with the nomination of the remaining 10 candidates.

NFI Group is a global manufacturer of buses and coaches under brands including New Flyer, MCI, Alexander Dennis, ARBOC, and Plaxton. The company has nearly 9,000 employees in 10 countries and supports an installed base of more than 100,000 buses and coaches worldwide.
