Anchor Transportation technician earns MCI Academy Master Technician certification

DES PLAINES, Ill. — Motor Coach Industries has recognized Anchor Transportation technician Kaleb McCain for earning Master Technician certification through the MCI Academy.

McCain, who has worked for the Tennessee-based motorcoach operator for three and a half years, primarily services MCI J4500 coaches. He spent about two years completing a combination of online coursework and hands-on training covering major motorcoach systems at MCI’s training center in Louisville, Kentucky.

“My motivation was to advance my skills so I could better support my company and continue growing as a technician,” McCain said.

McCain said the HVAC and electrical training were the most challenging and valuable parts of the program.

“The HVAC and electrical training helped tremendously and made it much easier to understand what’s going on with the bus,” he said.

McCain thanked his family and employer for supporting him throughout the certification process.

“My wife and family were incredibly supportive, and my supervisors always made sure I knew I was doing a good job,” he said. “Anchor Transportation has given me opportunities that most companies wouldn’t, and they continue to treat me extremely well.”

The MCI Academy offers online and instructor-led training for technicians at all experience levels, with the Master Technician program designed to develop advanced diagnostic and maintenance skills for motorcoach systems.
