Endera, a technology company that manufactures electric buses, announced that its B4 electric shuttle bus has completed the Federal Transit Administration’s Altoona testing with the highest score in its class.
The Altoona test, conducted at the Larson Transportation Institute’s Bus Research and Testing Center in Pennsylvania, evaluates a vehicle’s durability, safety, performance and reliability. Passing the test is required for vehicles funded by the FTA, which has awarded more than $4.5 billion in grants through the Low or No Emission and Buses and Bus Facilities programs.

“We are tremendously proud of our Altoona results, which prove the superior quality and performance of our electric vehicles,” said Endera CEO John Walsh. “Our vertically integrated model provides customers with a one-stop shop for all their electric fleet needs. Coupling this service model with industry-leading safety and efficiency scores enables us to fulfill our commitment to delivering the most reliable, high-performing, and cost-effective transit solutions.”
The Endera B4 seats up to 18 passengers and offers ADA-compliant options. The shuttle is engineered for durability and comfort while providing a smooth, quiet ride with the cost-saving benefits of electrification.
Endera, headquartered in Ottawa, Ohio, designs and builds electric shuttle and school buses in the U.S. The new bus-maker startup, which recently secured $49 million in funding, emphasizes sustainability and cost efficiency, positioning itself as America’s only vertically integrated electric vehicle manufacturer.
