D.C. adding more tour bus parking

By spring 2019, Washington, D.C., will nearly double the number of street parking zones reserved for tour bus parking, reports Greater Greater Washington.

Nearly one-third of the estimated 25 million annual visitors to the District arrive by motorcoach, according to 2015 National Park Service data. The plan by the District Department of Transportation aims to make it easier for buses to transport passengers to and from their destinations while minimizing cruising in search of parking that contributes to congestion.

The DDOT worked with the NPS, Destination DC and the American Bus Association to select new locations near museums, memorials, monuments and other desirable amenities. Information about the available tour bus parking is on the DDOT’s website.
