CERTS coalition urges White House to work with Congress for industry relief

Today, four national organizations representing the nation’s operators of motorcoaches, school buses, and passenger vessels called on the Administration to support the bi-partisan Coronavirus Economic Relief for Transportation Services (CERTS) Act.

The United Motorcoach Association, American Bus Association, National School Transportation Association, and Passenger Vessel Association explained the essential role these private companies play in the nation’s infrastructure without the benefit of government subsidies like the airlines, transit and AMTRAK receive.

In a letter addressed to President Trump’s Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, they underscored the essential nature of these industries and the unprecedented economic losses that operators of these businesses have faced. Furthermore, the letter called attention to the fact that a return to normal operations might not resume until well into next year.
