ABC techs visit Belgium for Van Hool electric vehicle training

A team of ABC Companies technicians visited the Van Hool factory in Belgium for training in preparation for the arrival of the Van Hool CX45E electric bus. The new model will be unveiled for the North American market at the United Motorcoach Association 2020 EPO in Nashville.

ABC is the distributor of Van Hool motorcoaches. The zero-emission CX45E combines the Siemens modular ELFA II drive train system with Proterra’s E2 high-density battery system.

“Together with our partners Van Hool and Proterra, ABC is leveraging deep expertise to bring advanced electric technology to the motorcoach segment,” said Roman Cornell, president and chief commercial officer at ABC Companies. “We are pleased to migrate the benefits and utility of electric vehicle technology enjoyed in the automotive and transit segments to our customer base.”

The CX45E will share other advances with the 2020 Van Hool CX series, including a restyled passenger entry, cabin and restroom, a redesigned driver’s area and new digital dash display.
