Operators to discuss FMCSA Portal in UMA Town Hall Meetings

UMA is hosting three online Regional Town Hall meetings for motorcoach operators just after Labor Day. The topic will be “The FMCSA Portal & Your Business,” and each of the three meetings will be hosted and moderated by a member of the UMA Board of Directors. The meetings will take place September 10, 11 and 12 and will last about one hour. In addition to the main topic, there will be regional issues up for discussion as well as a short “Technology Corner” to introduce operators to a useful technology tool suggested by fellow members.

The meetings use the Zoom videoconferencing platform that allows participants to see slides and one another or to simply phone in to participate in the discussion or just to listen in. “This is a great tool for operators to convene online, for just an hour, to learn about important topics and discuss regional issues affecting operators,” said Stacy Tetschner, UMA President and CEO. “Whether you log in from your desk or call in from your cell phone, the Zoom platform offers convenience to busy executives.”

The meeting schedule is:

Region I – Sept. 10, 2:00 p.m. ET (Moderated and hosted by UMA Board Member Dennis Streif)
Region 2 – Sept. 11, 2:00 p.m. ET (Moderated and hosted by UMA Board Member David Moody)
Region 3 – Sept. 12, 2:00 p.m. ET (Moderated and hosted by UMA Board Member Marcia Milton)

Currently, operators are using the portal very little if at all, so this Town Hall series is designed to increase comfort with the portal and expand its use as a valued tool. The use of the FMCSA Portal can streamline the compliance review process, and operators will discuss expanded use of the portal to include DataQs, violation appeals, crash preventability, crash scores and other FMCSA communications.
