UMA announces Safety Management Seminar schedule and topics

Current events are driving the agenda for the annual UMA Safety Management Seminar, according to Ken Presley, UMA Vice President, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs & Industry Relations/COO. The schedule for the 2019 event has just been released and posted on the UMA website. It features updates from relevant regulatory agencies and subject matter experts over a day and a half.

The Safety Management Seminar is an annual education event powered by UMA. It will be held December 4-5, 2019 at the NTSB Training Center in Ashburn, VA. Learn more at the UMA website.

“There is a great deal of information packed into a short period of time to enable attendees to minimize time away from their offices,” Presley said. “And in response to feedback from last year’s participants, for 2019 we’ve added more time for attendees to interact in meaningful ways like breakout group discussions and knowledge and solution sharing.”

Convenient Location

Proximity to Washington Dulles International Airport offers convenience and travel efficiency for attendees. UMA provides a shuttle between the hotel and the Training Center at the start and end of each day. The registration fee ($315 for UMA members/$495 for non-members) also covers lunch each day. For dinner on Wednesday evening attendees can make their own plans at numerous nearby restaurants, including one located in the host hotel, the Holiday Inn Washington Dulles.

The facility itself is an ideal learning environment with stadium-style seating for up to 150 in an auditorium that has an acoustically efficient design, making question-and-answer sessions a more productive component of the learning experience. As well, there are ample areas nearby for small group gatherings and discussions.

Act Quickly to Secure Your Place

Space is limited to 150 participants because of the size of the facility and the seminar sells out every year, so early registration is recommended. In addition, the UMA room rate at the Holiday Inn is $117 per night if you book by November 25, 2019. This is a very advantageous rate.
