Innovate – Educate – Celebrate

While they seem like words we hear in business every day, these three words are taking on a special meaning at the 2019 UMA Motorcoach EXPO in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.  As our team of volunteers and staff work to create an unforgettable experience, I want to share some of the highlights being developed especially for you.

Innovate

The landscape of the bus and motorcoach industry continues to change with new technologies being developed and introduced every day.  I find it hard to keep up with updates being sent for my smart phone, let alone what is being dealt to owners and operators of bus and motorcoach businesses.  From the evolution of ELDs and battery-powered coaches to autonomous driving and predictive maintenance tools, there is something in the news every week that is changing the industry landscape.  We have designed this year’s EXPO to be a one-stop shop to get face-to-face with the latest innovations in the industry and will include:

  • Unique experiences and education highlighting the latest innovations happening on the show floor.
  • A series of announcements and press releases by vendor partners to highlight the newest and latest technology and innovations in their offerings.
  • Opportunities to connect one-on-one with service providers that can provide cost savings on everything from fuel to insurance.  One of these meetings could save you thousands of dollars over the next year.

Educate

At UMA we are fortunate to have so many operators and business leaders willing to give their time to help us plan and deliver industry-leading education. This year we are excited to feature:

  • The sharing of best practices as everyone continues to address the driver and technician shortages
  • Lessons learned as ELDs reach full implementation
  • Technology tools to help make daily work easier and more efficient
  • Opportunities to connect with others in like situations (40 under 45 roundtable, maintenance interchange, and more)

Celebrate

What would a gathering of motorcoach operators be if we did not set aside some time to celebrate those that are doing great things in our industry? Peppered throughout our time together we will be recognizing fellow members in new ways for innovations in their businesses.  This year we will also celebrate our international driver competition in a new way by providing a live feed on the trade show floor directly from the competition, complete with a commentator/host to cover the event. The technicians won’t be left out either as we hold their competition live on the show floor for everyone to observe the best of the best in keeping our fleets running safely and reliable.

Connect

And, of course, we are going to provide many opportunities to connect and build your network of operators from around the country. Some of the greatest value in UMA comes from having those connections that you can call on for advice, for sharing business and when you need help with an emergency. In fact, since we will be in a beach city, what better place to connect than a party at the beach? You don’t want to miss our Monday Sneak Preview After Party complete with live music, beach bonfires and a good, old-fashioned pig roast.

I can’t wait to meet up with you in Ft. Lauderdale as we Innovate, Educate and Celebrate the bus and motorcoach industry. Sign up today at https://motorcoachexpo.com.
