Bret Michaels, who crisscrosses America to play for his three generations of fans at arenas and stadiums, is showing his support for the motorcoach industry with a video thanking the drivers, mechanics and others who are key to his life on the road.
After hearing the plight of the industry, Michaels was immediately on board to use his star power to help rally support, said Jeff Michael, President of Celebrity Coaches, based outside of Nashville.
“I’ve known Bret Michaels for a while. We did his Rock of Love bus through Celebrity Coaches and, just through that, I got to know him better. At one point, we built him his own Star Coach,” said Michael.
The singer’s customized home on wheels has been featured on many different shows, including the number one rated Rock of Love, a tour with HGTV star Carter Oosterhouse and the hit Travel Channel show, Rock My RV with Bret Michaels.
“I was trying to solicit artists to do these videos, and I shot Bret a text and asked him if he would do a video to support the industry. He replied back immediately. It was pretty cool because I didn’t know what to expect,” said Michael. “His reply was, ‘Jeff, you’re awesome. I would be happy to help you and all our tour bus friends and family by cutting a video for you.’”
A personal thank you
Taking time out of his busy schedule, Michaels filmed the video in which he shared his heartfelt message of support:
“To all of our incredible family and friends in the tour bus industry: This is Bret Michaels, and I just wanted to personally take this time to thank you all for everything you do for all of us there, and I cannot thank you enough for all the great years, all the awesome travel — to all the drivers, all the mechanics, all the staff, everybody that manages the tour bus industry, and thank you for everything you do for us. I know it has been a really tough year for everybody, but it has been unprecedented for the tour bus industry. I want to tell you we love you. You rock our world, and don’t ever forget we can’t wait to see you back out on the road. All right. I wish you all nothing but the best. Thank you for all the awesome years.”
Celebrity Coaches’ Michael added a special ‘thank you’ to the artist at the end of the video.
Messages of support
The singer and reality television star of Rock Your RV, and most recently Fox’s flagship hit The Masked Singer, Michaels is the latest of more than a dozen artists who have made videos or posted messages of support for the motorcoach industry on social media.
Last month, Kid Rock asked his Facebook followers to support the industry by sending in letters supporting the CERTS Acts. Hundreds did.
Celebrity Coaches’ Michael is part of the Tennessee Motor Coach Association’s effort to generate support for the $10 billion in economic relief for over-the-road buses, including the private motorcoach, tour and charter industry.
“We’ve really caught some momentum, and I think the team’s doing a good job getting the message out,” Michael said.
