Bay Area shuttle company accused of ADA violations

SAN FRANCISCO – Monterey Airbus, Inc., has entered into a settlement agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office to resolve allegations that the company violated Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act by discriminating against customers with disabilities.

As part of the settlement, Monterey Airbus will take steps to ensure that it provides equivalent service to individuals with disabilities.

Monterey Airbus, a private transportation company with its principal place of business in Monterey, provides airport shuttle service between the Monterey Peninsula, San Francisco International Airport and San Jose International Airport.

The company acknowledged that prior to 2017, it did not provide services for passengers who required wheelchair transportation. It agreed to start providing such services with readily accessible vehicles.
