UMA Searching for New President/CEO

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The United Motorcoach Association is working on a transition program in preparation for appointing a new president and CEO to replace Victor S. Parra, who is retiring at the end of March.

UMA Board Chairman Dale Krapf has appointed a search committee, made up of members of the board’s executive committee, to screen candidates for the position.

UMA also has hired Steve Klika, former president of the International Motorcoach Group, to manage the national search process.

Klika has been active in recruiting new leadership for numerous motorcoach companies and trade associations in the United States and Canada. UMA accepted applications for the position through the end of January.

Parra led UMA for nearly 19 years, joining the association in 1998 after spending several years in other industries.

Krapf said UMA continues to be focused on its goals and on preparations for UMA Motorcoach Expo 2017 in St. Louis from Feb. 26 to March 2.

He said this year’s Expo would feature “a spectacular send off for Vic Parra. We encourage everyone to join us in celebrating Vic’s years of excellent leadership. During this EXPO, the UMA board encourages its members, associates and friends to gather with them to thank Vic for his leadership and continuing friendship.”
