Travel protection plan offers peace of mind

UMA member benefits extend beyond discounts into helping operators open new revenue streams and offer services their clients want, services that can differentiate their businesses from competitors so that more deals are closed. Working with insurance partner USI Insurance Services, UMA has created a program that allows operators to sell comprehensive travel protection to customers, giving them an opportunity to have peace of mind when they book a charter.

The plan is designed to be purchased by individuals and features coverage for:

  • Trip cancellation
  • Trip interruption
  • Travel delays of more than 12 hours
  • Baggage and personal effects
  • Emergency medical evacuation
  • And many other travel related eventualities

Operators participating in the program can recoup a 30 percent commission for all sales. Beyond helping a company’s bottom line, the ability to offer these programs allows companies to enhance its appeal to would-be group leaders who want to protect against loss. Because this program is exclusive to UMA, it gives member companies a leg up on the competition.

Another equally valuable program available is the exclusive ability to offer charter groups a high limit medical evacuation plan. Designed for charter operators to offer on a group basis, this is a product that includes emergency medical evacuation and return of remains, plus some coverage for medical, accidental death and dismemberment and baggage. This plan is available for $1.30 per person per day, and operators can earn a 10 percent commission. Again, this is a smart way to offer extra services the consumer wants that add value to your sales proposition.

Both plans include 24/7 access to worldwide assistance and customizable marketing materials to help operators offer these plans to customers, in addition to an online quote generator.
