Trailways customers can now view service options, pricing, and up-to-date schedule information, including current arrivals and departure times, on Google Maps. Previously, this information was only available on Trailways.com.
Trailways, North America’s largest and oldest network of independent motor coach operators, announced the completion of its General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) Real-Time Feed with Google, providing travelers with expanded access to its services.
“Trailways applauds Google’s commitment to providing eco-friendly and reasonably priced transportation options for consumers worldwide. We are proud to make our schedules and fares available to Google users, and we look forward to enriching our feed with more helpful information this year,” said Alex Berardi, President of Trailways.com and Trailways.ca.
Later in 2024, the GTFS feed will offer real-time service alerts for trip updates, including delays, cancellations, and route changes due to unexpected events. This enhancement aims to help riders plan their bus travel more smoothly by providing accessible connecting information.
