The California Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program accepts grant applications

The California Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program is accepting applications for grants totaling up to $450 million in 2020 for procurement of electric rail cars, buses, charging systems and associated electric infrastructure.

The funds, available only to public agencies, may be used to purchase or lease vehicles and support facilities or to expand or improve existing rail systems. The program was created in 2014 to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, vehicle miles traveled and congestion. It has awarded $5.3 billion to 56 projects.
