The California Air Resources Board accepts applications for zero-emission vehicle grants

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is accepting applications for $130 million in zero-emission vehicle grants from the state’s Volkswagen Mitigation Trust.

Funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis for replacement of older, high-polluting transit, school and shuttle buses with new battery-electric or fuel-cell buses. During the project’s 10-year period, approximately 425 vehicles will be replaced with an incentive amount of up to $400,000 per vehicle.
