New organization boosts parts support

WINNIPEG—New Flyer Industries has completed the integration of its New Flyer and MCI parts supply and distribution operations under the brand name of NFI Parts, the company announced.

The new organization will support 17,000 customers with 72,000 transit buses and motorcoaches in North America from a main distribution center in Louisville, Ky., 12 additional facilities in the U.S. and four more in Canada.

New Flyer acquired Motor Coach Industries in 2015 and announced in 2017 the merger of the parts operations and support activities such as technical publications and training. The original-equipment product lines of New Flyer and MCI are now branded as NFI Parts. The products include the NABI and Orion brands previously acquired by New Flyer.

NFI Parts is now North America’s largest distributor of bus and motorcoach parts and operates the most supply locations, the company stated.

“Our goal in combining these businesses is to make it easy for customers to do business with us,” said NFI Parts President Brian Dewsnup. “Together, we have a more comprehensive parts offering, a larger distribution network, strong partnerships with a broader supply base, and the opportunity to share technologies and best practices.”

NFI also has enhanced its web-based commerce and shipping operations through its internet site, www.nfe.parts. NFI Parts will be represented in the MCI booth at Motorcoach Expo 2019 in Fort Lauderdale.
