National Bus Sales highlights fleet strategy, service at UMA EXPO

National Bus Sales used last week’s United Motorcoach Association EXPO to highlight strategic fleet planning, financing solutions, and an elevated customer experience model as motorcoach operators navigate a changing market environment.

The 2026 UMA EXPO, held Feb. 11–14 in Birmingham, Alabama, brought together industry leaders and operators focused on investment decisions amid shifting passenger expectations, evolving market conditions, and increased pressure on fleet use.

National Bus Sales (NBS) said conversations centered on helping operators make long-term capital decisions and better align fleet acquisitions with operational goals.

“Operators are being more intentional than ever with their fleet investments,” said Jason Brown, national sales manager for National Bus Sales. “Our role is not just to sell equipment; it’s to help our customers make informed decisions that position them for long-term growth and profitability.”

‘White glove’ strategy

Company representatives met with operators to discuss acquisition timing, lifecycle value, and customized financing options tailored to current economic conditions.

Alongside fleet strategy discussions, NBS emphasized what it described as a “white-glove” customer experience approach, which includes personalized airport pickup, private delivery walkthroughs, and ongoing post-sale support.

“Purchasing an Ultra Coachliner is a significant investment,” said Nick Harris, director of marketing for National Bus Sales. “We’ve built a structured, concierge-level process around that reality, from personalized coordination and private delivery walkthroughs to ongoing support after delivery. Our focus is professionalism, clarity, and follow-through at every step.”

Company leaders said the approach reflects broader industry trends in which customer experience, brand reputation, and driver retention increasingly influence purchasing decisions. As competition intensifies, the buying process itself has become part of the overall value proposition for operators, they said.

During the EXPO, NBS leadership also shared insights on inventory availability and emerging buying patterns expected to shape the 2026 model year.

National Bus Sales serves operators nationwide, providing motorcoach and transportation solutions for private operators, tour companies, universities, and charter fleets.
