NAMO appoints Josephine Arrington as OEM representative to board

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Association of Motorcoach Operators has appointed Josephine Arrington, service center operations manager at MCI’s Blackwood, New Jersey, facility, to its board of directors as the association’s original equipment manufacturer representative.

Arrington brings nearly two decades of experience in motorcoach maintenance and operations to the role. She joined Motor Coach Industries 19 years ago as a mechanic and advanced through positions including service advisor before assuming her current role.

Her experience working directly with operators, shop managers and drivers has given her firsthand insight into the challenges facing the industry, including workforce shortages, rising fuel costs, insurance expenses and maintenance issues.

“In my current role, it’s been important to me to be involved in industry associations like NAMO so I can support our customers in more ways than just repairing their coaches,” Arrington said. “Being part of the industry’s community allows us to advocate for operators, contribute knowledge, and help drive positive change.”

Collaboration and connection

As a NAMO board member, Arrington said, she hopes to strengthen collaboration across the industry while supporting the association’s mission to advance motorcoach operators.

“I’m excited to advocate for operators and learn from some of the best in the business while continuing to grow with the association,” she said.

Arrington said her role at MCI keeps her closely connected to the operational realities facing motorcoach companies.

“We see and hear these challenges every day,” she said. “It motivates us to work harder to help find solutions, ease burdens, and support the long-term success of our customers.”

She identified operational excellence, maintenance, employee retention and customer-focused services as key priorities.

“Operators that modernize fleets, enhance customer experience, and use data to improve efficiency will be best positioned for long-term success,” Arrington said.

NAMO Chairperson Marcia Milton said Arrington’s experience will strengthen the association’s leadership.

“Her operational expertise, industry knowledge, and commitment to customer service will bring tremendous value to our organization,” Milton said. “Josephine understands the challenges operators face every day and will help ensure that OEM perspectives remain an important part of our discussions and strategic planning.”

Arrington said her career at MCI has been shaped by continuous learning and collaboration.

“The industry is always evolving, and that’s what I love about it,” she said. “It’s a constant learning experience driven by the people and the strong sense of community.”

Michael Donner, MCI’s director of service centers, said Arrington’s appointment reflects her contributions to both the company and the industry.

“Throughout her 19-year career with MCI, she has demonstrated a passion for operational excellence, customer service, and industry collaboration,” Donner said. “Her firsthand experience working alongside operators and service professionals will bring valuable insight to the board.”
