Idaho and Kansas transit authorities contract with Proterra for battery-electric buses

Idaho and Kansas transit authorities have contracted with Proterra for the first battery-electric buses in those states, the company announced.

Valley Regional Transit of Idaho has agreed to purchase eight Proterra Catalyst 35-foot E2 buses and eight Proterra 125 kW plug-in charging systems. The system serves Boise, Garden City, Meridian, Nampa and Caldwell in Idaho.

Wichita Transit in Kansas will accept delivery of four 35-foot Proterra buses in December. Proterra said it now has placed buses in 42 U.S. states and Canadian provinces.
