D.C. experiments with bus lanes

Bus lanes will replace rush-hour lanes of traffic along congested streets near the White House this summer.

The changeover scheduled to begin in June will use the right curb lanes of H and I Streets NW and will run on H from Pennsylvania Avenue to 14th Street, and on I from 13th to Pennsylvania.

The rules will apply between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on both streets, according to the Greater Greater Washington website. The temporary pilot plan will run through September.
