CVSA announces new leadership for 2018-19

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) recently announced its new leadership team, which transitioned into its 2018-19 term at the CVSA Annual Conference and Exhibition in Kansas City, Mo., in September. Team members are:

  • Scott Carnegie, director of Mississippi Highway Patrol’s Motor Carrier Division, is the new president of the Alliance. He previously served as CVSA Region II vice president and was chair of the CVSA Finance Committee and the CVSA Election Committee.
  • John Samis, the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) supervisor of Delaware State Police’s Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit, is CVSA’s vice president. He previously as served CVSA Region I for two years as vice president and two years as president.
  • John Broers, commander for the South Dakota Highway Patrol’s Motor Carrier Division, which oversees MCSAP functions, size and weight enforcement, and permitting operations, was elected by the membership to the position of secretary. He previously served as Region III vice president for two years and president for one year.
  • Christopher Turner of the Kansas Highway Patrol will now serve his three-year commitment as past president.
