ATLANTA — Bill Kaiser, a familiar face at motorcoach trade shows and a longtime tire expert, has retired after 38 years helping operators find tires for their fleets. He is heading to Florida to enjoy retirement.
Kaiser began his career in 1988 with Bridgestone Mileage Sales as territory manager for the Southeast. He spent 25 years with the company, eventually becoming national sales manager.
In 2013, he co-founded Motorcoach Tire Sales with businessman and tire dealer Dan Snavely. Working with Toyo Tire, they introduced the brand’s tires to motorcoach operators.
“Bill has been a mainstay in the bus and motorcoach industry for decades,” said Ken Presley, chief operating officer and vice president of legislative and regulatory affairs and industry relations at the United Motorcoach Association. “It will take time to adjust to his absence and not having him just a phone call away. We wish him a long and happy retirement.”
Based in Atlanta, Kaiser traveled across the South, Midwest and Northeast with a Toyo tire in the back of his pickup truck, visiting operators to explain features developed for motorcoach use. Those visits, trade shows and a multiyear advertising campaign in Bus & Motorcoach News helped the company grow to more than $5 million in annual sales.
Motorcoach Tire Sales now also offers Yokohama, Pirelli and Michelin tires and has supplied hundreds of operators.
Kaiser sold his stake in the company in 2022. He said he is happy to see industry veteran Adam Hall carrying the business forward and continuing to provide customers with quality tires and service.
“This industry and the people in it have been part of my life, not just a job, and I will miss them dearly,” Kaiser said. “I’m healthy, feeling great and looking forward to enjoying retirement in the Margaritaville residential community in Florida. I wish all my friends and colleagues the best!”
