2 industry veterans join Daimler Coaches sales team

Industry veterans Thomas Vik and Patrick Laffan have joined Daimler Coaches North America‘s regional sales teams, serving the Midwest and Northeast.

In his role as Regional Sales Manager with DCNA’s Midwest sales team, Vik will be responsible for sales activities for new and pre-owned motor coaches in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Previously with Prevost, Vik brings nearly 10 years of experience as a Regional Sales Manager in the motorcoach industry.  

“During this time, Vik sold seated motor coaches in a 10-state Midwest territory — navigating clients in complex sales processes including specification development, order negotiation, contract completion and product delivery,” the company said.

Vik holds a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing from Iowa State University. He lives in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area and is married with two daughters. Patrick Laffan has joined DCNA as the Regional Sales Manager for the Northeast region. Laffan will be accountable for all facets of sales activity for new and pre-owned motor coaches in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Kentucky.

Laffan brings over 15 years of sales experience in the bus and motorcoach industry, having worked for companies including Irizar USA, MCI and Dattco, primarily focused in the Northeast region. He has previously held positions as Senior Account Executive, VP New Coach Sales, Commercial Bus Sales Manager and Commercial Bus Sales Representative with a focus on the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.  

“His prior success in establishing and cultivating trusted relationships, identifying new opportunities and with an appetite for mastering new technologies, should quickly prove to be a valuable asset to our sales team,” the company said.

Laffan holds a bachelor of arts degree in organizational and leadership studies from the University of Hartford, in Hartford, Conn. He lives in the Connecticut area and is married with two sons. In his free time, Laffan enjoys playing disc golf and volunteering with the local Parks and Recreation department and with local schools to teach disc golf.
