Three executives of ABC Companies have been given new titles and new duties as part of a company effort to increase its share of the motorcoach market and expand into the transit sector.

Involved in the moves are Roman Cornell, John Oakman and Clint Guth.

Cornell has transferred from ABCs California location to the companys Southeastern region, based in Winter Garden, Fla., where he will be responsible for sales and service as regional vice president and general manager.

Oakman has been promoted to vice president of large key accounts, and will manage sales and relationships with Coach USA and Coach America from ABCs Southeastern location.

Guth has been named regional vice president and general manager of the companys Western location in Garden Grove, Calif. Guth has twice received ABCs Salesman of the Year award.

"Were looking forward to expanding our market position in 2007," said Dane Cornell, ABC Companies president and chief executive. "This strategic realignment of key management is targeted on achieving our customer outreach and expansion objectives."

DaimlerChrysler Commercial Buses North America has announced the appointment of Dr. Martin Walz as chief operating pfficer, succeeding Tony Domabyl. Walz will oversee the daily operations of DCCBNAs production facilities in Mississauga, Ont. and Oriskany, N.Y., and will report to Andreas Strecker, president and CEO.

Walz was hired by DaimlerChrysler in 1999, working with strategic purchasing for the bus and coach groups. In 2005, he was named head of assembly production in DaimlerChryslers Mannheim, Germany, facility where Mercedes-Benz intercity buses are manufactured.

Walz joined the North American operations last September, heading DCCBNAs order process group an internal initiative to improve and streamline the order process for Orion transit buses from start to finish.

John Hagel has joined DaimlerChrysler Commercial Buses North America as pre-owned bus sales manager for the Midwest.

Hagel has more than 25 years of experience in the commercial bus and motorcoach industry, including four years at CoachCrafters. His background includes an equal mix of both sales and service experience with coaches and transit buses.

"John will provide both us and our customers with significant value as we continue to grow our pre-owned business," said Jeff Shank, vice president of pre-owned and Sprinter shuttle sales.

Pedro Ferro has been named president of Webb Wheel Products Inc. He comes to Webb Wheel from ArvinMeritor where he had global responsibility for brakes and wheel ends as vice president and general manager, braking systems and commercial vehicle emissions.

Ferro joined ArvinMeritor in 2001 from Motor Coach Industries, where he served as executive vice president of sales, marketing and distribution. Previously, he spent 14 years in management positions with Cummins Inc. Webb Wheel Products of Cullman, Ala., manufactures hubs, brake drums, and rotors for medium and heavy-duty buses and trucks.

The American Bus Association has hired Eron Shosteck as senior vice president communications, marketing and media relations.

Shosteck most recently worked for a subsidiary of Fleishman-Hillard, one of the nations largest public relations and marketing firms. Among the clients he worked with was the Diesel Technology Forum. Prior to that, he was director of communications for the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers.

Shosteck also has worked for The Hotline; the Health Insurance Association of America; The National Soft Drink Association; the Distilled Spirits Council, and on the staff of Rep. Dennis Hastert, R-Ill.
